2 Bottom Shedding
A weaving term which means that the portion of the warp required to form the shed is raised from the lowest to the highest point. The shed has actually a stationary bottom and a rising and falling top. The top shed is formed by a selection of threads from the bottom, which, after the insertion of a pick, fall again to the bottom, as shown under Shedding. This type of shedding puts the maximum amount of strain upon the yarn. -

سَطْح \ roof: the top of a building or of a vehicle. surface: the outside of any object; the top of a liquid: A brick has six surfaces (a top, a bottom, two sides and two ends). Ice forms on the surface of a lake, outward appearance On the surface, all was calm; but secretly there was great excitement. top: an upper surface: a table top. -
4 top-down approach
Gen Mgtan autocratic style of leadership in which strategies and solutions are identified by senior management and then cascaded down through the organization. The top-down approach can be considered a feature of large bureaucracies and is associated with a command and control approach to management. A number of management gurus, particularly Gary Hamel, have criticized it as an out-of-date style that leads to stagnation and business failure. It is the opposite of a bottom-up approach. -
5 bottom-up approach
Gen Mgta consultative leadership style that promotes employee participation at all levels in decision making and problem solving. A bottom-up approach to leadership is associated with flat organizations and the empowerment of employees. It can encourage creativity and flexibility and is the opposite of a top-down approach. -
6 Troughing The Shed
Mill term for the method of altering the warp shed in a loom to give the fabric fullness. The back rest is raised so that the bottom shed line of warp is depressed more below the warp line than the top shed is raised above it. Thus greater tension is put on the threads in the bottom shed line than on those forming the top shed, hence the latter give better cover.Dictionary of the English textile terms > Troughing The Shed
